Shirley WILSON is a resident in the city of Abbotsford, who has lived here full-time since 1994, but first moved here in 1983 from humble beginnings in the conservative eastern town of Dawson Creek, BC. Her first few years were spend on a farm before the “big move” to town.
Growing up on a sheep and grain farm, the youngest of ten children, Wilson learned from a young age that hard work pays off. Raised on a farm with a father who was away most of winter while mom tended the farm, Shirley had to pitch in just like everyone else.
Shirley chose Abbotsford as the place to settle and raise a family. Shirley’s children Maddi and Jacob – her son passed in 2021 – have always supported her pursuit of service as a locally elected leader in Abbotsford. Her best husband, Larry, is her daily encouragement officer.
